Example Castability Challenge Report
Dear Lauren:
Thank you for your submission for “Cypress - WHODUNNIT.” This report is privately yours. It is data that has never before been collected about the casting selection process, and it is meant to educate and empower you. For the first time ever, Castability collects intuitive casting decisions to give you a window on how you were perceived in that moment. This data is given back to you to use as a tool in developing your career.
Before reviewing your data, keep in mind:
1. In each round, you are compared against 4 other actors at random. Actors score up to 5 points per category, e.g. 1st place gets 5 points, 2nd place gets 4 points… Remember, this is just one impression in one role and is not a judgement on your overall ability.
2. If you score the highest in Castability in Round 1 (R1), you move on to Round 2 (R2) to be scored against the winners of other rounds who you were not initially compared against. This process continues on for multiple rounds depending on how many actors submit to the challenge. This is why you may receive multiple score or just one.
Your Castability Points: Cypress - WHODUNNIT, The Sage: Desires to find the truth, Dark Comedy
(Note: 5 points means you were chosen 1st, 4 points means you were chosen 2nd, etc…)

Bonus Rounds: When a batch doesn’t have 5 new actors to fill it, we auto-fill the batch with actors who submitted their scene early. So if you were lucky to get a score below, that makes you one of the early birds.

Castability List: One of Castability’s missions is to promote actors that get traction on their work. Each time you’re chosen first in a metric, you will get a star and be placed in our searchable gallery that we market to the industry. You can find the Castability list here.

Keep in Mind
1. One challenge of five actors is a small sample size, and you should not take this as a determination of your talent or future. Just like when auditioning, this is a subjective process, and our curators are instructed to make a decision with only this role in mind.
2. We’ve specifically targeted trained and committed actors to begin this process with us, which means the other actors are of high quality.
3. The more challenges you undertake, the more valuable the data becomes. We recommend you do at least eight challenges to gather meaningful data.
4. You can read more about who our Casting Directors are here.
Using the data:
First, look for where you did your best. Did your best correspond with placements of the winners? Do you think this might be a potential strength of yours? Can you develop your strengths further to really shine?
After you’ve fully explored where you’ve done your best, spend a little time reviewing placements that didn’t go so well. Do you agree? Can you improve that quality? Might you need work in areas that are holding you back?
As we gather more data, we will continue to update you on what we learn. The more challenges you do, the more useful the data will become. This is just the beginning. Thank you for joining our community.
If you have any questions about the data, please shoot us an email at admin@castability.actor, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
