The Donor
Chad's Story
Being a relatively healthy person, with no symptoms of any kind, one can imagine the shock of finding out you have a fairly rare occurrence of cancer. There really are few words to describe it, shock, disbelief, denial to name a few. Especially when you go to the doctor for something completely unrelated. The inspiration for the scene came from having donated a kidney in 2009 and finding out that because of that my only real option for treatment was a very aggressive surgery. What's the old saying, no good deed goes unpunished...LOL. Happy to say I am currently 2 years cancer free, and once I hit the 5 year mark, I can officially say I no longer have cancer.
