Where is the code? In order to receive access to the app during pre-launch you must be invited with a waitlist code. Join the list at castability,actor/interestlist and we will send invitations on a rolling basis as space permits. If you signed up and are curious about your status, feel free to DM or email us. My free trial is ending and I don't have my scores! If your free trial has ended but have not received all your scores from scenes you submitted to during your free week, rest assured that you will have full access to your feedback once casting is finished scoring. You will lose ability to submit to more scenes or see your data dashboard analyze that data, but your individual scores will always be available to you on your profile, active or inactive. Find each score under DATA, and HISTORY tabs. I was a beta member. Where are all my past scenes? We actually created an entirely new app with a completely different (and improved!) scoring system that uses independent feedback, not just a ranking system. Therefore, old scores/scenes could not be transferred directly to the new app. However, our founder invested in paying new casting directors to re-score old scenes one by one (at no cost to past members) using the new system. We have started that process and will continue scoring! We can't guarantee all past scenes will be re-scored, but we are by no means done and are prioritizing scenes with the largest number of submissions first. We appreciate your patience and we hope the improvements are worth it and that you enjoy the new app! What should I submit for? All Castability scenes are labelled by archetype and genre alone allowing all actors to participate in any scene they resonate with. Castability tracks how each actor performs in different archetypes across different genres. As Castability Curators are not casting real roles, every actor can be seen for every scene and any actor of any age/ethnicity/gender can win. Data is then collected on your archetypal fits and genres to see which caters to an actor's various strengths. When do I get my feedback? Scores are expected to be received in-app roughly a 3-5 days after the challenge officially closes. As we only use busy working casting professionals, please keep in mind that the scores sometimes are earlier or later depending on the casting curator's schedule. Who scores me? We have a rotating list casting curators growing in number and variety (countries, and regional markets) as Castability expands. The curators are compensated for their work. These curators work based on their availability and are rotated for variety in scoring habits. Exactly which curator scored you is kept anonymous so that the focus is on your work and growth as opposed to networking. These are all active casting professionals who meet the below standards: Currently employed in a Director or Associate level position by a studio, network, or production company. Or a minimum of 100 weeks in the last 5 years as an on-line Casting Director or Associate Casting Director casting principal roles in Film, Television, or Theatre. Where do I login on the website? There is no place to login on the website, you can only login on our app. Our website is only used for support and general information. Where can I see who won each challenge? All winners are featured in the Gallery on the Castability app which is free to download and create a profile. Watching peers work is an essential part of learning how casting thinks and improving your craft. I uploaded the wrong take or character! Reading the directions carefully is an essential practice in any audition. If you submit for the wrong character casting will treat it the same as in any audition and will be unable to consider you for the part. Trouble uploading or experiencing technical difficulties. Delete the app, re-download it, and try again. If you run into the same problem, email us. Email us at least 12 hours before the sequence or challenge closes so we can guarantee tech support in time. We are unable to reopen a challenge after it has closed. Please ensure you are submitting the right character and you can be seen and heard clearly or casting will omit you from consideration. In-App reader issues Casting will not take in-app readers into account while scoring. The technology is still in beta and it is best to practice with it before you submit. Rest assured we are constantly updating the in-app reader technology as well as our teleprompter technology. Any feedback is always appreciated! I don't like my score. To understand data collection you must understand that one set of data points means nothing in isolation. Accumulating data over time is the only way to draw reliable conclusions. Would you take one person's opinion as fact? We ask that you only start to notice trends after 8-10 challenges with accumulated decisions from casting over time. If you are open to collecting data long term, we hope that this previously withheld information will empower you as an actor, which as an actor run company, is our only goal. How do I pause or cancel my membership? Pauses are not available but you can cancel your membership anytime in-app or by reaching out to admin@castability.actor Are refunds available? Refunds of memberships are available within 24 hours of purchase before any submisisons have been made. Please note that after that period, members (including any free trials) must cancel 24 hours before next billing date in order to not be charged for the next month. Can I do this if I’m under 18? Video Submission Sharing The Castability service shares videos of your choice submitted to our Castability Curators for the purpose of evaluating you compared other actors for the role you selected. Castability Curators are casting industry professionals with experience casting or representing professional actors. The Castability Curators rank your submissions compared to other actors submitting for the same role. The Castability service also shares your videos with public users of the app, so long as you choose to have your submissions shared with the public. Public uses will view your videos compared to other actors and rank the actors based on who is most fit for the role. The Castability service also shares your profile with the casting industry, including agents and managers who are seeking to fill roles or find talent to represent. Contact information will only be shared with the express permission of the actor, which is facilitated through the mobile app. Other Parties Designated by You When using the Castability Service, you may share your data with other parties designated by you. For example, when applying to a casting notice on Castability, you may share personally identifiable data with the recipient of your application. When inviting a Castability user to apply to your casting notice, you may also share personally identifiable information with that user. Service Providers From time to time, we may partner with unaffiliated companies or individuals for market research, product development, quality assurance testing, or similar purposes. These companies or individuals may be provided with access to personally identifiable information, but we will require by contract that they agree to maintain the confidentiality, security and integrity of such information. Proprietary Rights All materials within the Castability app, website, and related services, including proprietary trademarks, copyrighted materials, and trade secrets, are owned by Castability LLC or its licensors. Use of this content for any commercial purposes without permission is strictly prohibited. 4. User Provided Content Users may upload personal content (e.g., videos, text) onto Castability. You agree to provide only content that you own or have rights to. By uploading content, you grant Castability a perpetual, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute this content for any purpose. Castability may monitor or remove content at its discretion to ensure compliance with these terms. 5. Limited License Castability grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal purposes only. Unauthorized copying, distribution, or commercial use of Castability content is prohibited and may lead to account suspension or legal action. 6. Restrictions on Use You agree not to engage in prohibited activities, including but not limited to: uploading harmful or offensive content (including nudity, visible weapons, or profanity outside of scripted words), impersonating others, soliciting personal information, or exploiting the app for unauthorized commercial activities. 7. Copyright Notices/Complaints Castability respects intellectual property rights. If you believe any content on the app infringes your copyrights, please send a notice in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to admin@castability.actor . 8. User Accounts Creating an account is required to access most services. You are responsible for the accuracy and authenticity of information provided and for maintaining the confidentiality of your account details. Unauthorized use of your account may result in immediate termination without a refund. 9. Additional Terms Certain features or services on Castability may have additional terms. If any conflict exists, the additional terms will govern. Castability may change or discontinue features at any time without notice. 10. Entire Agreement These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Castability. Equipment and Internet Access You are responsible for any devices, internet access, or related charges required to use the Castability app. 12. Dispute Resolution Binding Arbitration: Any disputes will be resolved through arbitration rather than in court, per the American Arbitration Association’s rules. Arbitration will be conducted in Los Angeles, CA, unless otherwise agreed. Class Action Waiver: You agree that any claims against Castability will be on an individual basis. No class actions or representative claims are permitted. 14. Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and Venue These Terms are governed by California law. If arbitration is deemed invalid, you agree to resolve any disputes in California courts. 15. Recovery of Fees In the event Castability must enforce these Terms, you agree to reimburse Castability for all legal fees and expenses incurred. 16. Limitations of Liability Castability and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app. Our liability will not exceed the amount you paid in the past 12 months, or $25 if no fees were paid. 17. Indemnity You agree to indemnify and hold Castability and its affiliates harmless from any claims or damages arising from your use of the app, including any content you post. 18. Disclaimers of Warranty The app is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To ensure a genuine experience for all, we strictly prohibit the use of AI-generated content and AI interactions in connection with our services as follows: Prohibition of AI-Generated Profiles, Photos, Videos, and Content Users may not submit content created or modified by artificial intelligence, including but not limited to profiles, photos, videos, or text generated or altered by AI. This includes, but is not limited to, deepfakes, AI-generated profile images, and synthetic media. Prohibition of AI Testing and Experimentation The Castability platform is not a testing ground for AI technologies. Users, organizations, or individuals are prohibited from uploading, testing or experimenting with AI-driven content within the Castability app, website, or social media pages. Protection of Actor, User, and Curator Likenesses The likeness, name, image, and other personal attributes of Castability actors, users, members, and casting curators may not be used or replicated by AI or in AI-generated content. Prohibition on Use of Castability Proprietary Materials by AI Castability's original content, including scripts, prompts, marketing language, and branding, may not be used by or inputted into AI systems. This restriction applies to all Castability content across platforms, including social media, website, podcasts, and emails. Protection of Scoring and Decision Patterns Users and third parties are prohibited from analyzing or replicating the scoring, decision-making patterns, or feedback processes of Castability casting curators for AI training or modeling purposes. Prohibition on AI Training, Data Mining, and Cloning Castability’s data, interactions, and user-provided content may not be used for AI training, data mining, or cloning. Unauthorized use of our platform or content for AI purposes will result in legal action. Legal Enforcement and Penalties Violations of these AI restrictions may result in immediate suspension or termination of access to Castability, with no refund. Castability reserves the right to pursue legal remedies, including damages, injunctive relief, and punitive action.
